Shooting a buck of that caliber is akin to catching a 30 pound steelhead.

I'm having a super hard time grasping these numbers being thrown out, but what do I know. Good luck on your tag and I think it's gonna be a good year to have that tag.

I've been in that unit a fair amount and not sure of many places you can be 5 miles from a road.

Am i the only one who can’t see the picture of the big buck?

To the OP-i had the tag in 2018. Weather was mild and numbers are down. Still a very fun hunt. I ended up killing the 4th biggest buck i saw. I think it was on the 7th or 8th day of hunting.

Also if things up there are the same as down here in Oregon (w biggs unit) the rut is on strong already.

Prolly, because, even though most on here haven't even seen a deer that big, no less shot one, they said they didn't believe the ratio of live weight to boned out meat.  (Basically calling him a liar) :twocents: :bash:

Pathetic the way the flat brim crowd responds to some posts.

This story is of an Idaho buck that my pops killed not a WA buck. Never got weighed live or hanging but got weighed after butchering. 275# of cut and wrapped meat. Scored 263 and change and was 42" wide. Aged at 11 years old. This is not a tale or BS

I personally have never killed a huge bodied buck, my sons first buck at the age of 12 had a bigger body than any I have ever killed :)

What a beautiful buck!
I could not even imagine trying to drag that bad boy a few miles back to camp.

Well he said he got 250# of meat off a mule deer so... they were right if they thought that..

It’s seventy today in Selah, so it’s kinda let the air out of activity.
