I was invited to go with a buddy fishing yesterday. We arrived early in the AM headed downstream for about 1 mile and then started trolling with 3.5 colors of lead line. I am not a trolling person so I had to learn some finer points to setting the hook etc. As soon as we'd get a bump Bill would vibrate the tip of his fishing rod to excite the fish into nailing the fly. I had two marvelous hits but missed one and lost the other. Considering the way the pole was bent on these two compared to the two we landed they had to be BIG, but I'll be back another day.
Water was mostly calm, 57 to 58 degrees F and a slight breeze. We saw lots of bald mule deer, eagles, hawks, some butter balls(bufflehead duck) but no other wildlife.
By the way, is there a game farm near Reardon, WA. I ask this because as we were heading home on 231 I saw a caribou running with some mule deer behind a fence line!!!!

Don't think I am hallucinating I know caribou and this one was a beautiful silver bull with a gorgeous rack.
Had a good day, good thing I brought my duck blind gear because it was chilly but with all the modern insulation I was warm and comfortable.
