Novice Hunter looking for some guidance. GMU's 121, 113
« on: December 24, 2020, 02:30:40 PM »
Hello all.  I just took up hunting a couple years ago and am looking for a little assistance in hunting elk.  I have not had any success yet but the time I have spent in the woods has been awesome.  I am definitely becoming addicted.  So far I have only hunted elk during the general rifle season in units 121 and 113.  I am not asking for anyone's secret spots or anything like that, I am just looking a bit of guidance.  If you are familiar with hunting elk in those units I am just wondering if I could PM you a couple screenshots of areas I have hunted and maybe you could just let me know if I should continue hunting and learning the area or if I am wasting my time and should move on to a different area.

Those areas are pretty tight lipped. I’m not familiar with it but have tried finding info and it is hard to come by. The best way to find the elk is to do what your doing. Run trail cams and tons of scouting and hunting.
Happiness is being in the woods!!!

Predator hunt!

Gets you out year round, learning the country and what calls it home.

Yeah I have definitely noticed.  I will keep up the scouting and hope for the best.  I just got my first trail cam so can't wait to put that bad boy to use.

I have thought about getting into a little predator hunting,  That's a great idea.  Thank you.
