Oregon wolves
« on: October 04, 2020, 04:23:57 PM »
Our elk hunt was impacted by the local pack hunting in our area the entire time we were there, but it was pretty cool to see them.  Howling most every night, even within 100 or so yards from camp, howling during the day, tracks all over, and we saw them several times. Didn't appreciate them pooping near camp, though! Even got to watch the pack of 6 adults hanging out high on some rocky terrain and then 30-40 minutes of watching them hunt along a ridge followed about a half-hour later by two juveniles following the same route. Phone battery died part way through the hunt, so missed some pics and videos.

Talked with the Roblyn Brown, the ODFW Wolf Coordinator about the pack, members, and her work with them. Good woman. Her and her husband were hunting elk a few miles from us at the same time. Good to know that a person in that position is an elk hunter, too.

Thanks for sharing. Know a few others who had hunts impacted by wolves this year. Have seen a dozen this year and some of the same wolves a couple times down in 46 and 65.

Well ok yeah. Nice area.
"When my bow falls, so shall the world. When me heart ceases to pump blood to my body, it will all come crashing down. As a hunter, we are bound by duty, nay, bound by our very soul to this world. When a hunter dies we feel it, we sense it, and the world trembles with sorrow. When I die, so shall the world, from the shock of loosing such a great part of ones soul." Ezekiel, Okeanos Hunter
