403 images to be exact, of this buck.   This was how I started my day yesterday.  God is good!   Its very satisfying to walk away from a deer having taken enough photos.

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

It's November... if you were a mature mule deer buck, you'd be grinning this month too... :chuckle:

About 20 feet.  I actually backed up so he’d fit in my viewfinder.  I thought I was stalking a coyote.

 :chuckle:

Well, what I noticed was the doe looking down. Like down in front of her she was kind of on a small point or elevation.   I was already within 50 yards or so.   Then I witnessed her following something with her eyes below her.  Now I was really curious.  I thought badger, coyote.  Whatever it was didn’t spook her but had her attention instead of me.  I slipped in to within about 30 yards of her .   Realizing now there was a steep “ditch” between us.  Then he stopped doubt of the ditch and took a look around.  He was too close for photos.  The. He disappear and climbed up behind her.  And she got the attention she was after.      He was nervous a bit after my camera starting clicking.   But she held him

I hope for one shot at a buck like that.

That buck looks really close to a deer my daughter shot here in eastern washington about 10 years ago or so.  The only difference is the three prong front fork is on the opposite side.  Cool buck for sure!

Thanks man. It’s been a tough year.   I negotiated for two weeks off without pay so I could have the break.  Hard pill to swallow after throwing 300 hours of vacation in the toilet, but glad to have some time out there.

As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.
