Seems like you have a good case for getting your points back at least.

Thats too bad you were planning on hunting that area.  There is still a lot of good area in the unit that remains open.

when Tima logging starts running the lumber they were cutting during modern elk start running down they will run more elk out thru the damaged fence than any amount of hunters ever will.  :twocents:

They let people hunt the early elk season for one week and then turn in their tag. I think you have a good shot anyways.

The whole unit isn’t closed is it? Why can’t you hunt north of evans? BBQ flats is north of there and still lots of area. Do you get to hunt all of 342?

There is still a lot of area in 342 that will be open. This will be a bonus and will put less pressure on the animals that have moved down.

Just heard today that there was a meeting at WDFW just in the last few days and they may actually allow folks to get their points back for 342...  My buddy was told they will be sending out a notice soon.

they were NOT logging this area.(n wenas rd from stagecoach pass to conrad ranches) My sons mother in law lives on the edge where the fire started. They called the dnr and reported it. They are correct about down fence as my sons property boarders it.  As of this note he just finished temp patching the fence to keep his horses in. There are already about 20 elk on private land. if enough get out the ranchers will kill them.
