For the most part most of my work was always put on here for all to see. There is a link at the bottom of my post to a site but I haven’t updated it for some time.  I’m not much of a salesman, it’s not why I photograph.   You will see some images there.

Thank you for asking.   It’s one of my winter projects to get more current images on there.

That’s a good question.  As far as I know he has a full ear.    I was working with twins though I thought  he had a messed up eye, that or folded ear, which I don’t know if I’ve ever seen that before.

bone, the buck I killed this year had about 2 inches missing from the tips of both ears, squared off. I killed another buck back in 1979 that had the same issue, only that buck was missing about 2 inches of one ear and about 3" off the other. I talked with my great grandpa about it back then and asked if he had ever seen that, he said yes, from time to time. He said he talked with one of the Little Bellingham guys back in the 40,s(his name was Gabe, I've told a few stories on here about him), he later went on to become a Warden up in Alaska. He said its frost bite usually, the tips of the ears are vulnerable and if they get frozen that area dies and falls off, could be whats going on with your guy there.:dunno:

I  also have a buck with about 4in of ear missing. Exactly what the Taxidermist told me. Some of these old bucks will stay up high too long a couple of years and there ears freeze off.

My best deer to date had a big split at least 1/3 of the way down through one years I assumed it was fighting.  I loved the uniqueness of it, and then unfortunately the taxidermist “fixed” it.  Now it looks like a normal ear in the mount and I was definitely disappointed in that.

Great pics Bone!
