Good luck all!

I know we briefly had a discussion in the other rut thread - but does anyone change their tactics in the late season vs. the general season?

I'll be in the stand before sunrise tomorrow, Friday and Saturday. Got a nice buck I'm targeting who hopefully will make an appearance. They were definitely more active last week than I've seen them the whole season. I'll be pulling the cards from this last week tonight and then coming up with a plan. Still trying to decide how to play out afternoons and evenings.

That really depends on elevation for me. Over 2000' and I'm glassing or hunting snowlines to cut track. Below 2000' and I'm hunting traditional rut zones or near a feeding source where a cruising buck would come to scent check a trail for does still in estrus.

For ne - not at all.  I hunt like it is the last day of Oct. With less leaves on the brush, working alder stands might provide more action than earlier in the season.

Out in the morning with the lucky A-bolt .243 in tow. Looks like a full rain gear kind of a day.

Just got down to the Coast. Setting up the bike/trailer on the other side of the gate...sitting in my car and resting until about 5 and then hitting it hard! I've got everything I can imagine crossed for good luck!!! There's a guy passed out in the Jack in the Box drive thru, is that a good or bad sign for the rest of the day... im hoping I have a matching pair of Pink Starbursts
If I'm not selling, I should be hunting, If I'm not hunting, I should quit!

I’m not sure why they make any other flavors besides pink.

Well, I coulda harvested a buck today but passed. A very small spikeasaurus in the midst of 7 does n fawns, not a breeder buck in sight. Was about an hour before dark, they were getting up from bed in a cut and fed up to the timber. Strange group  ;). Saw two more mature does on the hike out, no bucks. Will head back in same general area in am.

Had a mature buck by my house with a doe yesterday. Saw him first thing this morning again with 2 does. Unfortunately he was skylined and never gave me a shot. The wind swirled and they were off through the reprod. Biggest bummer is I have a surgery in the morning for trigger finger on my thumb. Hopefully he will show up this weekend and I can get one more chance at him. Was really hard not taking the shot but no way it was safe. Good luck to everyone tomorrow!!!!!
