F&GR, are the dates correct are your cam pics? Maybe in reading them wrong.

No I'm to lazy to set the dates.  I just get my pic taken when I check them and figure out pic dates that way. :chuckle:

Ahh, gotcha. Thanks.

Hunting a different spot in grays harbor county. Ain’t seen nothing all day. Sure sounds like the wing shooters are busy.

Good luck “D”. I’m gonna hike in and sit one of my spots till dark. Hoping there’s a dumb buck out there somewhere.

Zero deer seen on this morning's hunt.  I need to find a better spot.

Got a fork yesterday as well. There were a lot of deer in the area, it was hard to tell if he was actively pushing does or not. I think he was rubbing a tree when I first spotted him. Neck seemed to be pretty swollen as well. Last day I could hunt so it was his unlucky day. He’s the 6th deer that our group has pulled out of this cut in the past few years.

Had a heavy 3 by 4 wander thru the yard around 11;00 AM today. He was on a mission trailing the does and did not stop to eat any apples. Also security cam picked up a large two point this morning around 5:00 AM. He was alone and tracking does. Rut is still on in South King Co.

This is how he lay. I can't really tell that his neck was swollen at all.

I bumped a bedded doe in the way in around 1230. Didn’t see another deer till last few minutes of legal shooting light. Looked like three, skirting upper corner of cut, about 300 yards above me, looking behind them. Didn’t see a buck.

I hunted hard from 5AM to 6PM or so (Leaving the woods), every day since Thursday. I'm just pulling out of the airbnb now and heading back up to my house (lots of stuff to do before tomorrow). Absolutely insane 4 days. I was really hoping this year was going to be the year...But as others have mentioned, when you are BT hunting you can pretty much throw out any previous plans you had. After day 1 area (which I had counted on for months now) turned out to be way over grown and too hard to glass and track sign, I left a trail camera up and took off for a popular main line, in hopes of finding a side road to bike into. Well after rallying through the woods about 2 miles or so, I decided on this particular gate, parked and set up my gear...I had about a mile of multiple grade roads some timber and patchy 5 year old cuts to glass onto about 200-400 yards away...I found this place loaded with fresh rubs...one grade would have 3 to 8 within a certain area, and then the main line would be beat up for a distance on one side, and then at the end there was a great 6 tree line that a smaller buck had shredded up... Very little tracks..cut one set of buck tracks that came down off a ledge and dropped into a clay bank before hitting the gravel... we saw ZERO Does. We saw very few fresh deer scat piles...And the worst, but best part was that we were on Elk every single day. Friday night we watched 3 satellite bulls thrashing some Christmas Trees about 455 yards away on a knob. I had my cross hairs on the big 5x5s boiler maker for what seemed like forever, while asking myself...why does always happen when it's another species season. They fed up into the old timber and we headed back. Last night and this morning we sat on 3 siff landings covering draws below us to cuts 709 yards away....what did we see, just more f'n Elk. 4 days is hard to get it done. I wish I had more time to scout and more money to invest into stealthlinks and other cell service provided game cams. I biked alot, got drenched every day but Saturday, worked on my rattling/doe bleats/buck grunts/fawn calls...Productive 4 days, can't say I didn't give it hell. Next year I'll hopefully have 3 of us with 6 to 8 trail cams spread out and salt licks dropped...giving us a stronger advantage as to learning their home! Pictures coming soon
If I'm not selling, I should be hunting, If I'm not hunting, I should quit!

Saw a spike today without a care in the world. No kid in tow he called it a season on Friday.

Called it a day after lunch had other obligations.

I know where some good Buck's are now so off season is going to be predator control, minerals, horn hunting and stand building.

And a multi season tag next year I think archery is best for me to get one of the big boys.

Gave out 2 bleat calls, waited a min, rattled for 20 sec an this buck should up.   145 yards shot to the neck an dropped him.
First blacktail buck. An first time ever rattling anything in.
