Yup, bad shots are part of the game, no matter how much you hate it. And there's also usually a story behind these incidents. Glad the bull is not suffering anymore

My son had one in his scope on last Saturday of season at Ravens Roost and couldn't shoot with cows behind it.  We never got another chance  Was glad to see him play it right on that one.

I still think about the 5x5 elk I shot broadside at 100 yards 3 times with a .270 and it got away after I missed a 10 foot neck kill shot under the dark reprod - saw it later in the day on front of a jeep and was ticked but glad it was harvested.  That was 40 years ago.
