well went out to a spot last night and did some pick-up camping with a hunting partner of mine.  started hunting at 5:30am and got our first bird of the day at 6:30.  it was a nice mature bird taken off his roost with a great close set-up. the bird weighed in undressed at 18 lbs

the second stand we made about an hour later a little ways over later brought in four jakes. i ended my season by taking a double with one shot.  they were jakes but they were big for jakes.  the biggest of them weighed in at 17.5 lbs and the smaller one at 15lbs.  one had a decent fan for a jake the other and irronically the bigger of the two was missing almost one half of his fan.  both beards were only several inches long.  needless to say cant wait to get them in the fryer they should be good eating.

good luck to everyone else out there still trying to fill tags.  enclosed picture is a quicky from my cell.  better pictures of all three birds later when time permits.

finally got around to getting the pictures up.  here are some better shots.  enjoy.

it might be hard to tell and i can post a picture of one of the fans...  but my two birds had much lighter tips on their tail feathers... the fan on my buddys bird was noticeably darker.

well i dont think i call great but i do think it made up a little for last year, soi feel lucky.

the next best thing to tagging those birds was calling up Gutpile and telling him i was done turkey hunting.... for the year.  LOL

anyways thanks again for the compliments it was just one of those mornings were every thing worked out and we were in the right place at the right time.  gosh knows between last year and the year before ive had alot of hunts were i never saw or heard a turkey.

Ill take 'Buck Fever' over 'Swine flu'...
