2014 big body but crab claw tops.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

Every father should remember that one day his children will follow his example instead of his advice.

If you zoom in on the last photo you can see the “dropper” out the back. Game warden confirmed it when he came by our camp. “It does go down, so I guess you could call it a droptine”

You bet I can!

We used to do a t shirt for the biggest deer. The hat was my wife’s idea in 2011 because she thought she was going to win it. She had a doe tag. She got the doe but not the hat, three bucks shot that year. We decided to pass the hat each year. The winner gets to wear it like a badge of honor to every family event. My wife’s family is big and there is a birthday party almost every month, or graduation, engagement party or holiday party.

It’s a great tradition.

Awesome posts Rainier10.  I heard there was quite the camp in our old spot up on top! I remember how great and exciting the Swakane was back in the day.  The late archery season up there was anticipated and planned all summer long. Glad you are still up there chasing them!

We only went by there on day one.  Coming up from Cashmere it was plowed all the way up.  Once you took the right to get to where we would hunt below you and continue on to your camp was deep snow.  We made it the first day but as traffic increased we didn't want to hassle with people not chaining up until it was too late.  We went up mills the rest of the season.  That wasn't much better but it was bad all the way up so people used the plowed road instead and didn't hunt the mills side as much.

There was nobody in your camp on day one.  There were people camped right in some of the good hunting spots.  Spoiler alert, when you camp right where the deer are they move until you break camp.

There was tons of snow that we had hoped for but not many deer.  Next year we are praying for deer instead of snow.  We thought praying for snow would mean deer.  That didn't work out.

2020 Elliot is dead and the pink hat comes home.
You shot him up the hill from our camp😎.
Matter of fact, we obviously drove right by him that morning and you shot him behind us. We were first ones in that morning. We had stoped to take photo right where you gutted him. Beautiful sunrise that you have in background. If you want a before photo, send me pm. Good job!
