Explain it to me like I'm 5
« on: February 26, 2021, 01:37:54 PM »
Hi all, hoping someone may help a new hunter understand the difference between a "special application" and the raffle tickets.

I am completely lost, my first read it seems that they are sort of the same thing, but I am sure there is a nuanced difference I am missing?

Thanks in advance.

Looking at applying for "Any ram" but then confused as to why there are raffle tickets that $11.50 a piece.

:yeah: special apps are for the regular yearly draw where you get one application and a point every year you don't draw (or you can select "point only" option). Raffles are just that, a raffle and you can buy as many tickets as you'd like.

Okay thanks I feel like an idiot now.

Sound like raffles are buy as much as you have money to burn, and the special hunt Application is one chance regardless of how much money you have.

other thing about the special applications - just purchasing doesn't mean you are done, you have to apply them separately either for points purposes or to pick an area to try for.. no apply=no point value added when not drawn...

Special hunt apps are annual, you accrue points as the years drag on and you are not selected. The more points you have the better your chances in the draw (supposedly.) Raffles are annual too but you do not accrue any points to carry over year to year. You are only in for the current season and how much $ you ponied up on it.
Fish hard, hunt harder!
