Late Season Elk...
« on: November 24, 2020, 04:33:35 PM »
Anyone going out tomorrow?

Hope the snow has pushed some critters down where I’m going to take a look!

So my little herd of a dozen finally drew the attention of 3 wolves from who knows where(closest pack is the opposite side of the valley) and now the herd I’ve been keeping tabs on is dead or hiding somewhere. Dunno where to hunt now. Had all my eggs in 1 basket. They got 2 possibly 3 cows of the herd. Had my son and didn’t go down to check out the big flock of crows in the bottom of the draw. Tracks were all wolves and there were 3 separate beds where they laid.
May my presence go unnoticed, may my shot be true, may the blood trail be short.

Amen

Getting ready to head to  :archer: camp.  Had fresh wolf tracks in my area a couple weeks ago, where they were removed not so long ago.  Hoping I don't have the same scenario.
Economy failure = Too many people spending money they don't have on things they don't need to impress people they don't like.

Usually head out for the last half, give the snow a little more time to push the elk down.

They changed my area to spike only so I’m not going to waste my time this year. First time in years I haven’t hunted elk in Washington.
