I want a hobby grade fleshing tool. Recommendations?
«

I bought a tanning kit to process a deer hide. It came with a scraper tool. It was a lot of work with the tool to get the hide fleshed. I had success with it after watching you tube videos.
I even tried the pressure washer method. Pressure washing was not quicker, messy and made the hide super saturated with water. I am an amateur and would not recommend a pressure washer for fleshing.
I really enjoyed the process. I would like to get a fleshing tool. I am looking for recommendations? I noticed there was a lot of options on the internet. Wonder if the tools are all similarities or some better than others. Any diy tool option recommendations?
I have a bear hide I want to tan if anyone has recommendations for it let me know. Thanks for any input.

Believe it or not but I do most of mine with a good knife. I tried several of the tools, from a regular flesher, wire brush tool, etc. I did the best job and least amount of damage with a knife.

IMO fleshing critters big or small is one of those processes that takes a lot of practice to be good at, start with a good tool to help yourself out.
