I have a couple Crossman 760s, and a Gamo WisperCat, all are .177 cal.If you have young-ones the Crossmans can be fun, while helping them learn how to handle a firearm, and you can limit the the power (number of pumps). If you want something that is super efficient, fast and extremely quite (comes suppressed) the Gamo has no comparison, and costs a little over $100.For what you described, the Gamo shines.Fantastic pellet rifle for the money!
I have a Gamo Whisper (it doesn't, sounds like dropping a phone book in the kitchen), and a crossman piston, neither of which I'm impressed with as far as accuracy goes. Baseball to softball at 25 FEET. Sometimes bigger. Seems back in the day the old pump up daisy and crossman shot their iron sights better. In fact I know they did. I remember getting golf ball groups at 25 feet. I dunno what the deal is... I'd sure like an accurate pellet rifle. Seems like a modern, high tech, piston driven .177 with a scope should one hole at 25 feet and do an inch or so at 25 YARDS. I sure haven't seen it yet.Any insights would be appreciated!
