Hells Canyon Armory Tikka Package
« on: December 02, 2020, 11:15:46 PM »
I've been considering upgrading my 7mm RM Tikka T3x with a carbon stock and maybe a carbon barrel.  I recently came across a Tikka build package by HCA that will use your donor Tikka to build a semi-custom rifle with carbon stock and barrel, new bottom metal, mag, and fluting/cerakote.  See link below.

https://www.hellscanyonarmory.com/online-store/HCA-2020-Tikka-Carbon-Killer-Package-p173715240

Does any one have experience with HCA, good or bad? This seems like a decent package to me.  I'm eyeing the 6.5 PRC.

I don't think you can go wrong with that package.  HCA has a good reputation and they will do my next build.

Mine is not the exact build deal but pretty close. Mike does excellent work but is super busy so don’t expect it in a weeks time. I don’t think you can have a semi-custom built any cheaper with higher quality anywhere. If time is not an issue I would recommend getting ahold of him ASAP to get in line. :twocents:

I had mike build me a custom 28 nosler a few years ago. He is a stand up guy with a lot of knowledge. He built my gun, taught me a ton about long range shooting, and even took the time to tell me what to buy for reloading components and tips for a beginner reloader. Hca is who i always recommend to people looking to build a rifle.

Sometimes you have to go bold to differentiate from the traditional stuff that’s been done a million times. I got enough of those in my gun safe already. :chuckle:

I have 3 of hca's rifles. A tikka build, a carbon killer on a mutant rem 700 action and a full custom 28 Nosler. All are fantastic shooters. Ive also shot a dozen or more of his rifles and they have all been lights out! Buy with confidence.  Jump over to rokslide and sift through their gun section. Lots of guys over there with his tikka builds.

:yeah:   All the component mfgs are way backlogged so Getting components can take 6-8 months or longer for anyone right now.   Some smiths stock a narrow selection of actions and stocks if that fits you.  The Tikka you have in hand is a timesaver.

Thanks for the replies!  Planning to give Mike a call regarding build times, etc.

This may open a big can of worms, but what are ya'lls thoughts on a 6.5 prc replacing my 7 rm as a deer rifle with the ability to shoot elk also?

Personally wouldn’t be my choice with elk on the menu but I’m sure it will drop elk fine with quality bullets & quality shot placement. I kicked around the idea of building on my Tikka 7 rem mag & doing a 7wsm,7saum or 7 Sherman max but ultimately put it in a new stock to be left as is for now & bought a donor tikka from a fellow member here & went 300 wsm to take care of anything I might hunt. :twocents:

Between my dad and I, we have 4 rifles from HCA.  A .270 win, two 6.5-06AI, and a .280 AI with a carbon barrel.  Three are on rem 700 actions and one on a tikka, all shoot very well.  Mike is a pleasure to work with and does good work!

It’s a great loaner rifle, shoots great with this rookie shooting.

My HCA Tikka. Started as a T3X Lite 7Rem mag. It's now a 7SAUM. It's since had the bolt fluted and will get some cerakote.
