Foxpro remote help TX500
« on: December 05, 2020, 11:20:14 AM »
My push button on/off selector is going bad.

Has anyone replaced it before?

Foxpro wants the remote and the caller for 2 weeks,  I gotta pay to ship both ways, plus parts/labor.  I'd do that, but I wanna hunt and it still mostly kinda works.

I'd like to do it myself if I could just find that switch on the internet.

Thanks

You have a picture of the switch?

Rotary selector knob.  It's a push down to select, rotate either direction infanitly to scroll.

The rotary type switches (knob in this case) are not typically easy to swap.  If you can take it apart and swab the contacts and wiper with isopropyl alcohol and a qtip that might do it...high probability I’d say.

Thanks for the advice,  I'll try that for sure.

You bet...you could also disconnect the battery/remove it and drop some Isopropyl alcohol in the problem area and push/spin the knob until it evaporates or gets warm Through spinning/pushing it so much .  It’s either worn out or has some oxidation/funk in it.  Worst case you send it in for repair.  Best case you get it working again.

Success!

Seems to be working much better, bit of alcohol and canned air.

It's scrolling perfectly, and the selector is selecting without mashing on it.

And I didn't even mess it up

Great!   And now you can show the critters that they are being duped by a fox pro....by showing them the transmitter antenna logo. :)
