Gun finish suppliers in Wa?
« on: April 19, 2009, 12:47:48 PM »
I am wanting to purchase some Aluma-hyde spray on paint finish for a rifle project. i was wondering if anyone here knew if the Aluma-Hyde or GunKote finishes are available it retail stores near or in King County?

complete project photos during the transformation here: http://s140.photobucket.com/albums/r5/washingtonfishingfools/weird22/?start=all

prior to starting on the rifle

after starting on the rifle

I want to remove the stove paint from the metal and use the more durable finishes of Aluma-hyde or gunkote to complete my toy.

Thought your name sounded familiar. I have been watching your post about this rifle on RFC.

Been doing a very nice job with it too.

No idea on where to buy the coating though.
Never, ever let Creed hold you baby, it will ruin it and you will have to get another.

i have no personal experience with this guy, but i've read that he does great work and his prices are fair. yes, i know that he isn't in washington but i just thought i would throw it out there for you to consider. he offers two different coatings and in a variety of different colors.

Check out Brownel's, they sell some coatings.
Fit-4 Duty, is a advertiser at 24hour, IIRC they sell a coating, I think it might be duracoat.

ordered that magazine last sunday, should be delivered tomorrow per the UPS tracking.
I sure cant wait to go test fire it at the indoor range tomorrow night (i hope)  :IBCOOL:

cant wait to see how the rifle functions and what type of accuracy it will provide after a few rounds scrub the barrel a bit more than my chemicals and cleaning kit did.
