Careful at Toppenish wildlife refuge
« on: December 13, 2020, 07:17:14 PM »
Thieves got in my truck today. Stole brand new in reach gps week old, Leica 2700, vortex razor bingos, leupold binos and the keys to work truck, personal truck and keys to house. So new locks on house both trucks going in for new ignitions and a freaked out wife. Just an FYI if your thinking of hunting pump house ice is 2” thick. Another rig was vandalized and got snow boards and skiing equipment. Just a lovely day.  :IBCOOL:

Man that sucks. I think homeowners insurance can possibly extend to cover items in your vehicle hopefully that apply to you

Cannot leave anything in your vehicle down there valuable or not.... Ever.

Sucks it happened to you. You're not the first nor the last. The drunk/tweaked out indians and Mexicans down there have really gotten bold on what they try to get away with. Just ask the good guys who live down there about it.

It's the worst I have seen for break in's.  I have not been hunting one of my typical spots as rigs are getting broke into weekly this season.  I don't know if the cops are even taking them in if caught due to covid.  Probably a ticket on the spot if caught.

I saw your wifes post on FB as well.  At least I assume it's your wife as she was pretty much spot on with the report other than all Swarowski optics stolen.   :chuckle:

10 years ago I hired a guy to do some work for me. He lived in Zillah. He made the comment that his father one night had a drunk native jump in the truck with him when stopped at a stop light...he also said that in the spring, that if you had to go out in the orchard to get a wind machine going or light smudge pots, you best be armed as someone might jump you. The place he ended up buying was a marijuana processing house. Said there was a conveyer belt going up and down the stairs. Talked about how there are some small farms that are owned by mexican gangs.

Bought a tractor from another guy in Zillah. He said having a gate across your driveway was mandatory.

So yeah, sounds awesome. :o

This problem exists almost everywhere. Last week, bird hunting along the Okanogan river, a car load of Mexicans pulled up to my truck and one of them got out and started looking in the windows. He was very surprised when I fired off a round from about 100 yards away! Surprised at how fast he jumped in the car and headed south! From now on, I will put up a trail cam anywhere I park to hunt or fish.

The problem exsists everywhere but the lower valley is a league of its own. :twocents:
