Special Draw Unit 1081/1075 Antlerless
« on: December 17, 2020, 10:42:06 AM »
Hey y'all!

I'm thinking about putting in for special draw for Unit 1081/1075 antlerless for muzzleloader next year.

Looking at the harvest reports, it looks like there's some success in those units, but it's primarily all private land, with lots of "hunt by written permission only" areas.

I know there's elk in there, but I'm curious about trying to hone in a little closer to where they actually are. I mean, I don't mind writing for permission on every single piece of land in there, but I figure I'd ask for a little insight to maybe save a little bit of time.

Just trying to plan well in advance!

you might contact the landowners and see if they have animals on their place then proceeded to asking for permission

The tag is currently open, if it were me I’d grab a yote rifle and a shotgun and take a drive down and see what the elk are doing. Would give you a much better idea of what areas to focus your efforts on for permission, and you might be able to do some door knocking while you’re down there  :dunno:

I would definitely do that, but I live 6 hours away and in the winter my job is super high demand. Tough to get away, but that's a great idea for this spring
