It’s a big investment and can make the price reasonable. Or more times then not like their market predicted you’ll bump up to the top and still spend more then you had planned even with a discount

I snagged a Gen 1 Razor 65mm last year at Sportsman's balloon pop day for the very same reasons.  I wanted good glass for field use and range use.  High end glass was never in the cards as a divorce would be way more expensive and she would probably take it as part of the settlement of assets (I'm joking I think).  But they had them for $799 and I hit a 25% off ticket so I came out really good in the end.
