Rest easy Colonel, Fly High
« on: March 05, 2022, 05:38:25 AM »
Attended memorial services for a good family friend yesterday.  I've not met a better man for friend & family.  He grew up a North Dakota farm boy during the depression.  Served during the Vietnam era flying B-47's and B-52's.  Colonel in SAC flying 24 shifts.  Probably the first, maybe only pilot to land a B-52 safely with a full load of fuel & nuclear bomb on board and only three out of eight engines functioning.  SAC didn't want him to bring it back, due to the results they anticipated.  The manual at the time said it needed five engines operational.  He lived a full and humble life.
Much Respect Colonel Keith Cain
