Old brass shotgun shells

This is a question for those of you who collect brass shells.
I was going through some of my dad’s boxes and found a bunch of Winchester and Remington-UMC 12 ga brass shotgun shells.  The question is do I leave them alone or run them thru the vibrator cleaner?
Some that I have are original loaded, which nothing will be done with them, some have been reloaded but most are empty.

Seriously, I would love to see a pic.  I have a 1914 UMC 12 ga. shotgun that used to shoot those type of shells.  Can you post a photo or two?

The ones I have I used mother mag wheel polish and cleaned em up with that.

Leave them alone!   cleaning patina almost always destroys value..   Very cool to have those, they are getting really hard to find.

Leave them the way thry are and list them on gun broker. You will get good money for them.

Yeah leave them the way they are.  I personally would display them in your man cave and think of your dad every time you look at them.  Cool pieces. I collect and display this kind of stuff just cause it’s cool.   Here is a pic of part of my collection.  Can’t find the other pic on my phone with the shells.

Yes I will be keeping a few to display, especially the original loaded ones.  I know where they came from and how my dad got them.  I will check out gun broker and other places, thank a lot guys.

I have new and old on my nick-knack shelf. The new loaded ones are Remington DU edition. The old ones ones I picked over the years. My favorite one is a 16 gauge that I found off of Scatter Creak RD (south of Republic) in about 1966/67.

Very cool.  I've never seen those before.  When I was a kid my dad had some old vintage paper cartridges in 12 & 20.  I shot them all up grouse hunting.  Some were so old and swollen, I had to cram them in the gun.  Thanks for posting the pics!

The one in the middle looks like a Wunda (SP) and I have a Herters that is all plastic as well. Right next to my 14ga pin fire.
