It is a sin to keep bass!  :chuckle:

Not a sin.

However, they are not managed and restocked like trout, therefore it's up to us to ensure the future of the resource because there won't be a truck coming with thousands more year after year.

Yes, I tried eating a bass when I was 14 and it was disgusting. They're a product of their environment and it tasted like the dirty water I caught it in! I know some like them but I do not. Fortunately they are a thousand times more enjoyable to catch than they are to eat.  :twocents:

 :yeah:

I have eaten from lakes and rivers. I liked the river bass, the lake bass not so much.

I've beer battered and deep fried quite a few smallmouth while camping on the Snake in Hell's Canyon. It wasn't walleye status, but I thought they were pretty tasty. I toss them all back anywhere else though.

I may be crazy, but a big bass is a bucket list fish for me.  I grew up reading Outdoor Life and Field and Stream but lived in trout country.  Probably 95% of the articles were about bass but I have only fished them seriously a couple of times.

Great pics.

Nice largemouth!

I grew up trout fishing as well. At age 13, while fishing with bobber and worms off a huge log at Thomas Lake in Everett WA, my best friend accidentally caught a largemouth bass and I haven't been the same since.  :chuckle:

@Stein Right now through May is the absolute best and easiest time of the year to hook into a moose! Get out there!

Haven’t been out due to recuperating from shoulder surgery but have been making baits for therapy.
