As for your questions, I personally think that that is your decision to make. Having the bird in the book will not make the hunt any more memorable IMO. However, getting it taxied.....well, if ya got the extra cash laying around I say go for it.

If it is a book bird, couldn't you find someone like the ntf to pay for the mount. I have a cousin that got a trophy buck about 15 years ago and he didn't have two nickles to rub. He was only hunting for the meat but got the big one. Somehow the paper got a pic and wrote an article and the some group came forward and paid for the mount. It may not be the same with a turkey but I don't see why not. :dunno:
