Holosun SCS-MP2
« on: April 16, 2024, 01:03:03 AM »
Has anyone tried the Holosun SCS-MP2 on a S&W M&P2 with suppressor sights? I'm curious what the sight picture looks like.

The Holosun SCS-MP2, has a 2 MOA Dot with a 32 MOA circle. I do not have one.
I do have a 512 Reflex with HM3x Multplier with QD on a S&W M&P SPORT II and an AEMS on a 6920 Colt Upper.
Both have the 4 MOA Dot with the 65 MOA circle.
I love that reticle

It is extremely fast in CQB and can still reach out and touch someone when needed. We mainly practice shoot-n-scoot on various targets and random distances out to 100 yards.

The solar I usually turn off, it tends to be overly bright even in overcast light. My buddy has the same 512 as I do, and he loves the solar option,  :dunno:
 :chuckle:

Holosun makes fantastic sights especially for the price.

I had a Swampfox Liberty with Ironside shield and plastic RMR plate, the suppressor sights would barely cowitness due to the height of the Liberty. After six rounds of 10mm Underwood 220gr Hardcast the posts on the Zev plate and the screws that mounted the Liberty sheered off.

I have two 407c's and a 509t, of which one could be mounted with a steel or aluminum plate, but again I would have the cowitness problem.

The SCS mounts directly to the slide eliminating the plate, which would rectify the cowitness and hopfully the problem of sheering the screws.

The SCS appears to have smaller sight picture than any of the above mentioned sights, I concerned that the suppressor sights might take up to much of the sight picture. Just looking for a good combination. The Underwoods hit hard, and I would like to continue using them. Did I mention that they hit hard  :chuckle:

If knowone else has had any experience with the above combination. I'll give Holosun a call.

Alchase, Thank You for the response.

I have experience with the Holosun SCS but for the Glock and not the M&P. I also run regular height sights. I would say based off the lower 3rd co-witness with the regular sights you would have a true co-witness or upper third I would guess with the suppressor height sights. I have mine on a Glock 40 shooting the 200gr Hard cast Double Tap and it seems to work good. Must be pretty scary to the bears as I didn't see any when I was carrying it.

You have me curious on the sight picture though. I might have to throw my suppressor height sights on it to see where it sits.

Just talked with Holosun, They said to use standard height sights with the SCS. I was hoping to not have to use a plate, but with that said, I ordered two plates from CH Precision one for 407c and one for 509T.

Farmer72, I'm glad to see that the Hard Cast are working so well for you :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

Nice!
Glad you got a resolution from Holosun.

Must be pretty scary to the bears as I didn't see any when I was carrying it.

You win the Internets for the day, for hunting were the smart bears who can tell you ain’t playing around and have 200gr Hard cast Double Tap racked

All the bears and hogs down here are dumber then stumps, and apparently can’t tell when they are about to get hit.  :bash:
