Upland pants

Finally wore out my Goodrich pants. Doing a search, and have come across the Sawbuck pant by First Lite. Any real world experience out there?

Maybe not exactly what you’re looking for, but I’ve had the same FILSON double tin pants for 19 years. Best upland hunting pant I know of.

I'm on my second season with the Sawbucks and can't imagine wearing anything else in the field. Very comfortable and durable. They see a lot of use and I'm not easy on my gear. I wear a pair of ankle gaiters with mine as well.

I have some sawbucks and echo what has been said. Very comfortable, and they actual fit me and my long legs. I chukar hunt mostly so can't speak to heavy burr cover.

Thank you all for the input. I don't wear brush pants for chukar, so these would be busting roses for quail.

I wear a home made pair of tin pants. I used beeswax and heated it into a pair of carhartts. I used a 1lb bricknof the wax rubbing it into the cloth then melting with a heat gun. I use alot below the knee, seams and the double front and butt.  They are kind of stiff when cold but once broken in are great. They worked so well that they never really snagged while walking trough waste deep blackberries.

Depending onnhow much you wax and where i suggest going up a size or so due to shrinkage. Never wash just reapply wax as needed.

Too much work for this fella to be waxing pants. I deserve leisure  these days.

I hunt every upland species in the Sawbucks, no complaints. I push through plenty of rough sagebrush, thorns, and cattails. The double fronts hold up very well, the primary material is thin and stretchy, but durable.

If you're pushing through blackberry vines on the westside I'd say go with something heavier. You will be fine with the Sawbucks for anything on the east. I do recommend ankle gaiters to keep stuff out of your socks/boots though.
