Thanks, we just finsished the house. That is barnwood off of our barn that was built in 1917. The main barn structure is great but the back lean-to portion will have to be rebuilt so we salvaged all the wood from there for some interior portions of our house. That wall is 24.5ft tall and it goes to the top.

Its so hard for me to pick one since they are all special in their own way but this one is prized because it was my first ever bow kill. Everything that happened was like how you envision it laying in bed thinking about an elk hunt.

My Top 2 prized trophy's

These two birds and hunts are by far my most prized trophies,, hunting memories and experiences to date. I have killed some good deer and other critters but these are my trophies.

First was my first turkey but that doesn’t matter, it was my 6yo (at the time)  oldest sons first bonafide Hunt with me. We located this bird high above us and he kept right on me as we climbed to him. We made it to 80yds and I thought we we’re toast , as it started to rain I offered up to him that we could head back to the truck or we could keep dogging this vocal Tom. He immediately returned with a “ let’s keep going dad!” We eventually were able to Move back in on him and coax him into 35yds and we celebrated both of our firsts  on the hill.

The second included my middle son for his first true hunt  after turning 6. Same scenario, the 3 of us trudged up the hill and worked our way towards a group of birds. With this one allowing us an opportunity at 22 yds. The look on his face exploring the birds colors and features, my two sons celebrating together and them packing it out together, calling mom to share our success, I will cherish for my lifetime.

My third son is a few short years from 6 and I’ll add a third trophy to the wall. I’m sure each year will be filled with memories and trophies of all kinds but these firsts will always hold the spot of number one for me.

My brain is a little different than most, I'm a very sentimental person and remember damn near all my kills, the lessons I learned from the hunt, the animal and the people around me.  One of the many hunts that stand out was for this guy.  There is a lot of pride with this bear.
