It was pitch dark after I found and gutted him.   I took a branch and propped the rib cage open and came back the next day with my brother to pack him out.   The unit stayed open for a few more years before being closed.   The area was the Russian Butte and you can see it when you drive east on I 90 past Mt Si.

Most guys that kill a Mtn goat come back with a pretty good story, and in the end, those are the special times that count👊🏔👊
Yes they are! Thanks for sharing

Here is Pathfinder JR's favorite deer.  And my favorite picture of him with it... (even though its a bit blurry)

This a great memory/expression of the moment captured in this photo

Here are two of my own favorites.
My first buck, age 13.
My 2010 Montana Mule Deer (this one is my favorite because I killed it during that November blizzard in Montana when it got -20)
Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

This was a good looking buck that I got after missing a great buck. That year I seen a group of bucks that had a high 190’s buck, 180ish buck that I missed, a 30-31 inch wide 165ish buck(I killed him the following season) I never seen that giant again, rumors were he was around for two more years. I did scout for this buck during that time but I never located him again

This is the wide buck that I referred to above. I shot him in a rock slide the next year, I had to push the stock since I had other hunters moving in from below. The buck cart wheeled for 200-250 yards. He busted basically everything, I found most of the pieces. This was a prized trophy prior to the fall :bash:
