if at 18 they are old enough to vote and decide the fate of the country they are old enough to pay full price as adults. Now I could see raising to 16 but not above that.
I'm okay with it either way, but if they really want to encourage new fishermen they really need to just simplify the regulations. There are many rivers that have four or more different sets of regulations depending upon which stretch of the river you are on; different seasons, bait and or lure restrictions, etc.. It's no wonder that experienced people just throw their hands up in disgust, not to mention new fishermen being discouraged.
I think the age should be consistent between hunting and fishing.
