Where did you find “Big Hank”
« on: January 31, 2021, 07:53:44 AM »
This thread idea came from a joke in another thread.
The topic is when you found “Big Hank”
I think everyone has seen Randy Newberg, and he refers to what ever spices they are after and the nicest one they find as big hank

Let’s see when you found big hank
This could be another fun thread to pass the time. I’ve enjoyed seeing trophies others have posted in other threads

I found Big Hank in idaho the second night of general season a few years ago

I found my Big Hank in Idaho as well, first morning of my hunt, a couple days after the opener. He wasn't particularly steep and deep either, just maybe a little deeper than others were willing to go. Who am I kidding, I was just stupid lucky.

Since both of these two were from Idaho. I would venture to guess that they were from Big Hank Campground on the Coeur d'Alene River. Sorry to thread jack couldn't resist.

This was Big Hank 11 years ago in Oregon the night before season. It was the fourth day of season before I found him in my crosshairs two canyons away from where he was before season

What did that bull score?  That is an amazing bull.   My big hank as for as elk goes, I never got a pic of him but he was surrounded by about 25 cows all bedded down. There was 7 legal bulls just within yards of all his cows going nuts, when the fog lifted big hank was in the middle of the herd and I saw his beauty.  Prob around 370 to 380 cascade bull, never saw him during elk season.

I was working my way around some bluffs to a little area with some rock pockets then I pulled out a hot pocket and took a bite. I looked to the north and this dude was walking by so I shot him walked up to him and said it’s you Big Hank.

I like filling tags and the freezer so I’m not the best at holding out for giants, mature is usually plenty for me, but here is a big hank benchleg bt/md buck I killed in a deep and steep avalanche chute in the cascades......

Pretty sure mine was the same bear my wife and I saw two years earlier in one of our regular hunting/hiking areas not far from home. Got him out whole and he weighed 304lbs. After drying the skull scored 19 7/16th and wdfw says he was 11

It looks like @HillHound either needs to stop shooting bears or build a new house.

Very nice.

Yes once my son is done with school and out of the house our forever house will definitely have a trophy room required. I’m sure not going to stop shooting stuff just because there’s no where to put it. I have a rug that should be done sometime and a hide in the freezer I want a half mount done on but no clue where I will put them when finished. I’m sure I will find a spot

2007 was a magical year for me.   Flew into the Alaska Range with my guide.   Found this ram 3 days before the season with 13 rams.   Shot him on the opener at 10 am.  Will always be my favorite hunt.
