If I had 1 week to take off, and could only hunt that week, it would be the 2nd or 3rd week in May.

I thinks its a good balance of higher bear activity vs rubbed out fur

What time of the season do you guys prefer to hunt spring bear?

From the day it opens till the day it closes.
Give me a tag , that's how I'm rolling.
I'm sure a few on here will answer your question better than I can.
But with the chance of it closing prematurely that's how I'm going into it. And I will be to "busy" hunting to be checking emails and such .So I probably won't hear if it closes anyway.

Thanks for the input. I was unaware that they can close down the set season dates like they do with cougar....

Normally they wouldn’t. Last year they did due to Covid and this year they might because they are currently trying to pass a law making spring bear season illegal. So I assume if the season starts and that law does get pushed through they will tell us we’re done hunting.

I’d be a very disgruntled sportsman if I finally drew and it got shut down for a bologna reason!

Me too.  Never been drawn.  Little Pathfinder and I are both in for the Blues.

Hoping to draw, but with only a couple points it is unlikely.

Thought I would check results from the last couple years:
-Looks like in 2020 results were out on Wednesday March 11th
-In 2019 it was Wednesday March 13th

So I would put odds somewhere between the 10th and the 17th of March

Meet modern should be golden.  It's not a weapon specific season.

I've got the time and the will this year and no new baby in the house. It'd be a perfect year for me to draw. Here's to hoping.
