I guess it depends on what your idea of best is. Quality of animals, quantity, easy hunt, tough hunt?
The only man who never makes a mistake, is the man who never does anything!!
The further one goes into the wilderness, the greater the attraction of its lonely freedom.

ive seen what I think are trophy rams in umptanum, clemans mountain, selah butte, and tieton river. Not sure what they would score and dont really care but they have all been old mature rams with heavy horns.

With the very limited amount of tags a guy could get a quality ram in any unit if he sticks to his standards, problem is most guys have a OIL tag and shoot the first one they get an opportunity at. Some are good, others not so big.

Same with moose and goat.  On my moose tag while doing research I talked to many guys who shot the first bull they could, even if it was a little paddlehorn bull.  If you can keep your finger off the trigger you'll be good, getting the tag is the hardest part.

Here is one from one of the Yakima area units.
Sorry had to brag!   8)
Don't want to get anyone riled up by specifying. Not too hard to figure out though.
Any of those units hold nice rams....and bigger as well.

shelah butte B ewe tag.  There are some old hags in there that go back and forth between Shelah butte and the Umtanum.  Should be a slam dunk for a B&C cali bighorn hag.
