Curious if anyone has ever seen elk above tree line in NE Washington (thinking in the summer scouting or just back packing) where our alpine mountains are few and far between. I never have but also have never looked in such places. Was told by an old timer he used to see it regularly on a few of our bigger peaks back in the day. Just randomly picturing it and thought I'd ask. Would be too neat to happen I'd imagine.

I stopped to look at some mt. goats at a usual spot and while glassing them I saw a brown spot moving and when I focused on it, it was and elk. I have photos I took of the elk feeding close to a goat and the elk was higher on the ridge than the goat. If I can find them I'll post a couple.
