Christensen Mesa

I picked up a new Christensen Mesa in 300 Win Mag.  Looks to be a nice rifle.  Once I get it to feed properly, Ill shoot it and post a report.  Apparently feeding issues plague this gun.  Wasn't sure anyone could make a Remington that fed worse than a Remington!  Oh well.  Looks like an easy fix once the parts show up.

Good luck getting it fixed  I've heard this about a few of them, what ammunition are you trying to feed?

My ridgeline feeds flawlessly.......BUT.......no way they are worth what people are paying for them.  My Savage shoots better and was easier to load for.  Hands down the most finicky rifle I have ever owned.  Oh yeah and the recoil pad is glued on and will eventually start to peel off.   Then you can get rocks in the stock and it will sound like a baby rattle as you walk through the woods....so awesome.

We’ve got 6 Ridgeline between me and my buddys.   6.5 PRC, 300 PRC, 26 Nosler and 28 Nosler.  They all shoot factory ammo exceptionally well.

I did have a buddy buy a 300 win in the Mesa and he had issues with it.  He eventually rebarreled it and now he is reporting consistent sub 3” groups on his 750 yard plate.

I’d buy another Ridgeline in heartbeat.

I've done load workups on a few and they usually just need a little tweeking of the follower spring and they will feed fine. Is it jamming the tip or is it kicking the base of the cartridge out sideways?

I’ve got a Ridgeline in 28 that shoots half minute with factory 162 eld-x and half minute with 175 eld-x hand loads. Feeds great with both, the 175’s are seated out to the Max of the magazine too.

Ive got a 300wsm ridgeline and a 280Ai ridgeline and they are both flawless and shoot 1/2" MOA as long as I do my part - I did have my 300wsm converted to HS Precision mag feed and makes the rifle way better I feel - I will be doing the 280Ai next for sure

The cartridge chambers fine.  As I pull back on the bolt, I can feel the ejectors pushing the case out toward the ejection port.  As the bolt travels rearward until the shoulder of the case reaches the ejection port, the case comes loose and falls back on top of the follower/other cartridges in the magazine.  Run it fast, run it slow, same result.  I contacted Christensen and they seemed to already know this is an issue.  They offered to send me the parts to fix it rather than ship the gun in.  Waiting on the parts.

Put in the new extractor and ejectors and it works great!  Thanks to CA customer service.  I heard the issues have been fixed.  I might have gotten an older gun that wasn’t retrofitted with the new parts.

Picked up a Mesa in .300 PRC. Lasted three bench sessions and got rid of it.

I bought a 6.5 prc CA traverse last year. The gun shoots 1/2” at 100 yards with 147 eldms. I own a full custom 28 nosler, as well. With that said the CA rifles are not in the same league as a full custom, but it’s nice to not have to wait for a gun to be built. I would definitely by another one they are very accurate in my opinion. I hope you get yours figured out I definitely think it will treat you well.

I just bought a Mesa in 7 MM-08.  Putting a new scope on it and looking forward to see how it does.  It's going to be a while because I can't find any ammo.

I shot mine for the first time today.  The brake isn’t obnoxious and turned the 300 into a 270 recoil-wise.  I just took a box of Federal Fusion because I didn’t have time to make up some loads.  Rifle shot ridiculously well with that ammo.  1 1/2 groups at 200 were the norm.  I’m impressed.

Choice ammunition had some 7mm-08 on their website a couple days ago. Might give them a look. Have had decent luck shooting their ammo.

What would the other league be? Less then 3/8 MOA? Longer throat? Just curious.
