Whatcom County

I’m thinking of moving to Whatcom County. Do the pheasant release sites listed on WDFW website get planted regularly during the season?

I hunted the intelco and lake Terrell  units. Lots of area and yes planted with birds. The area needs some brush hogging badly but are beatitful properties for the release program because of the large tracks of land available.

In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

Welcome to the county!  Where you planning on settling in at?  I’m in the Everson area.  I recommend staying out of Bellingham

Thanks for the info.  It looks like we will settle in Blaine. Hope to finalize things this next week.

If you are excited about the phesant release program i recomend volunteering and becoming involved... in Skagit Couty we are blessed with great waterfowling, as is Whatcom, but dont have wdfw property for a great release site like The 2 sites i mentioned. If you love hunting birds get involved and make a difference. Beautiful pieces of property  need some volunteer work and coukd be an absolute jem in your back yard. Get to know the Lake Terrell manager and find a way to improve the great gem in the ruff.

I love upland and waterfowl. When I can’t get to eastern was, I like to get he dogs on some planted birds. I really hope to learn the Skagit waterfowl in as Pasco is a long drive. I’m retired so I’d like to get involved.

Welcome to the area, I live between Blaine & Lynden. Some great areas for running the dogs up here but I still do most my hunting East side to get away from the crowds.

I would highly recomend getting involved in the Washington Waterfowlers Association and or the Pheasant forever local chapter.
