First brisket!

Took a crack at doing my first brisket yesterday - did it on my Green Mountain Grill. Turned out really good for the first one I thought 👍👍

Looks awesome! The first thing we cooked when we bought our green mountain was a brisket. We used a traeger brisket recipe, took forever but it was delicious.
$5 is a lot of money if you ain't got it

I love my Green Mountain...literally cook on it every night. Nothing wrong with having to spend a lot of time on the back deck  :chuckle: Just remember to follow the directions on maintenance...as far as vacuuming out the fire pot and such. I am not a maintenance freak for a lot of things but I do keep up with it for this grill...and I would recommend the cover if you are leaving it outside in any way

Yeah, the vacuuming is inconvenient or we would use it more. Pork chops with minimal seasoning is excellent, super juicy.

My next pellet grill I'm getting a hot ash vacuum.

North 40 got one for 89 bucks, best ratings too.

You have more control with the GM...as far as increments. GM is 5 degs...I have several buddies that had the other brand and they like them but said they would go GM next time. I don't have the Wifi deal on mine...I enjoy sitting and watching /listening to it work. I have no regrets.

I too use my GMG 4-5 nights a week.  I love the versatility of this grill/smoker.  I have had mine for 6 years and have never had an issue with it.  It turns out some great food from pizza to ribs and brisket and everything in between.

Check out Camp Chef.  Before each grill, I pull the knob and dump ash into a bucket and only have to pull the thing apart to vacuum once or twice a season for the small bit of ash that flies outside of the burn pot.  They have a patent on the idea and I haven't seen any other manufacturer find a way around it.

I upgraded to the PID controller and am very happy with it.  From my research, there are tons of good pellet machines out there but I went with Camp Chef mainly due to the ease of cleanout vs pulling it apart every grill to vacuum it out.

Your missing out without WI-FI.  Thats the best thing about it when cooking a brisquet. I cook it from my bed and check temps with my app
