The lions have been hammering the bighorns on Hart Mountain. No predator hunting allowed on the federal refuge. If you have a deer, pronghorn, or sheep tag, that's the only thing you're allowed to hunt.  I was down there around Halloween in the early 90's and there were bighorns running around chasing ewes and butting heads every place I went. They used to trap bighorns on Hart Mtn and transplant them to other areas. Pretty sad to see what it's become!

Shows how important predator control is wish Washington paid attention. In New Mexico they actually pay hound guys on a bounty system to hunt cats all winter long specifically to help protect the wild sheep.. Maybe that's why they have some of the best hunting in the states...
