Boat Radar
« on: April 16, 2021, 07:31:25 PM »
Trying to get a clear understanding of the radar systems before I order one.  Would like to stay with Lowrance since that’s what the rest of our electronics are. A lot of the units don’t list if they’re 3g or 4g or what.  I’ve heard 4g is really good. Thoughts?

4g refreshes at a faster rate so it gives you a better more accurate report. 4g has a more sensitive gain as well.

Hold out for 5g. Seems it isn't far from being available?

Hard to find many 3g units anymore. Most everything on the market is 4g. Like stated, its just a better radar with range, detail etc.

I'm running 4g and love it. Perfect for small boat use.
