I’m in search of a new turkey gun. I’m narrowed it down to the Benelli super vinci and the Frnchi Affinity elite.

The only concerns i’ver heard is the sv trigger guard can slap the back of your trigger finger; the affinity isn’t drilled/tapped and is 28” long which is more of a duck gun than turkey gun.

Thought from anyone that has these guns is appreciated.

When I was shopping for the affinity elite it was no where to be found so I settled on the affinity 3.5 which does come drilled and tapped and plastic capped. Fwiw

Thanks. Upon more research, yhe elite is drilled and tapped. It’s a hard choice.

If it’s for turkey hunting pay special attention to the safety on both guns. One of my son’s shoots a Vinci and the safety cannot be taken off quietly no matter how careful you are and has cost him more than one turkey. It also jams occasionally and the butt pad has worn off. Don’t know if the Super Vinci has the same loud click but I would check it out before you buy. My other son shoots the Franchi and it has been flawless. If it was me I’d by the Franchi and not look back.

any more, you really don't need to shoot 3.5" shells with TSS awakening. Even duck/goose really is same considerations. Maybe cheaper to get strait Affinity vs 3.5? I just did in a 20 for turkey myself.

I’ve heard a lot about TSS. Might have to try them. I’ve always been a 3.5” shooter. I guess once I get tired of the recoil, or old, I’ll switch to 20ga.

No need for 3.5"for turkey.  30 yards is you best range.  TSS if you can find them are super expensive just FYI.

Ya, I’ve noticed the prices, that’s why I’ve stayed away from them. I like 3.5” for those extended ranges beyond 40yds. But as like you said, most of my shots are between 30-40yds. Bought the Carlson Long Beard extended choke to try, I’ve heard a lot of good things about them. I actually used a full choke in my now broken 11-87 more than my extra full turkey choke.

Super turkey chokes make a difference.  40 yards my last tom using Hevi-Shot magnum blend 3".  That is a 5,6,7 shot blend.  I am going to use Hevi-Strut X Tungstun 5,6 shot blend.  $18 a box
