I'd have to find a sign somewhere and take a picture of the elk closure.  Folks hit the boundary areas hard.  In fact thats where the poaching pics in the Herald are from.  I should go up there tonight and get a free trailcam.  I am 98.9% sure of where its at by those pics.  LOL  ITs a road coming out of the little rattlesnake.   It goes up on the backside and is poached pretty heavily as people try to make there way in.  Great place to put a camera.  Nice job WDFW.   I don't have any littlebuf.

The best year that I have had in there I found 8 on the opener. That was a year that the backroad had some really deep snow drifts and the poachers couldn't get in from the backside. Now every year I hope for a big snow around the first of April. I have had friends that thought about dropping a few trees on that road around April 1 just to keep the poachers outta there for a few weeks. I asked a warden why they dont close that road down till opener and he said they have to keep it open for the snowmobilers.  >:(

I think it is neat to find a drop, and guys going out in the spring getting some exercise and picking up nice elk antlers is great.  What I don't get is the rabidness of some, even to the point of sneaking in, breaking the law, somewhere just to pick up a shed.  What do they do with them once they get them?  It seems as hysterical as the women fighting over the cabbage patch dolls at Christmas time.

enlighten me.

Money for alot of folks I suppose.  not sure.  I can honestly say that I thought about it this year by my house because of the uniqueness of the bull. I'd never seen anything like him. The power antlers have over me probably is what derives the ole name.  Then I thought to myself, no then I wouldn't be any better than the guys I despise.  Then you try to do it legally and guys on 4 wheelers break the rules.  I know I'd never get it if I waited to do it legally but it just wasn't worth breaking the law over.  I guess others don't have that holding them back.  Now there is some guy out there with a cool set of antlers.   :dunno:

I will eventually .. They have to dig around in my head and remove some stuff that should not be there. It makes me have a pretty bad balance problem amongst other things. I will live. Thanks for asking.. Thank God Elk And Deer season ain't til fall or I would be screwed.
Go find a shed in my name :)

Just got back from the Joke Creek wildlife area.  Shed hunters looked to be averaging 20.3 cars per shed.  But seriously, I found none by 10am, and of the 100 or so people i glasses with my binocs, looked like they were having equal luck.  Brings me to wonder, how many were picked up early by trespassers.... or food for thought WDFW people to provide for this shed auction they are having.   :dunno: Ive done this every year and always came home with a couple, or missed some to other people close to me, but my  :twocents: looks to me like Joe Q public who is out here doing things the right way legally got a big ole elk horn in the rear this year.  At least i am thankful for the opportunity, and and excellent hike as always.

quads have no buisness up in the woods. they are lazy people that are greedy and dont really care about anything else execpt how many antlers they find. they cheat they still and they cause un nessasary stress on the animals. i think this a big proplem, just like poaching!

Yeah and in other areas they are hosing up Turkey hunting too.... :4w: :pee:
