Same Ammo same weight same mfg different FPS

I recently bought some Nosler 30-06 accubond 165 grain trophy grade. Looking at the part number on the box box it is the same. the boxes look the same except the crowns on the back. The twist is one box claims to be pushing at 2800 and the other box claims 2950. Now I know my 26” rifle pushes the 2800 stuff at 2870 and i know there is some variation from time to time but 150 fps seems like a big variation. Anyone seen that from factory ammo in the past. Not really worried about it as much as i am curious. When i go shoot some of this ammo i will crony it to see what the difference if any there is.

I’ve seen it, different velocity, different sku, different model number.  Twice I can think of, I emailed and they said it was the exact same, just updating info and marketing.

I've been kinda wonder about quality control of factory ammo.  We used to see factory second bullets all the time.
I have a feeling what they down graded before ,we are paying top dollar.

Sounds like they came from 2 different manufacturing facilities. Each one would proof the round in their test barrel then update the box. Could be varied due to different lots of primers powder etc

Hence the reason you're pushing them at 2870. It's a tweener and they can't decide.

 Best to just consider the info on the box as a suggestion.

Any ammo can have variance lot to lot. That’s why folks tent to buy a large qty of a given lot if it’s found their rifle likes it.
The current market conditions make that hard though.

Thanks for all the reply’s. Was just a funny thing to see the exact sam ammo have different fps it will be interesting to see the chrono on the new stuff.

They used a G1 BC of .475 for the bullets when the actual BC is more around .445.

And that 2950 seems a fair bit peppy. Maybe they used RE26 in the new loads.

wonder if they like us have supply chain problems and they are running a couple different powders and box accordingly?

I seen the same thing with some federal 6.5 I bought for my wife's rifle. Part number was the same but velocity was different. Started looking at the round and noticed the newer slower ammo had a small rifle primer vs large on the older box.

Well if the numbers on the box are "correct".
I'm thinking different powders.
Or a lower charge weight on one box to another.
But the only way to know is to pull a bullet from a round from each box and look at the powder and weigh it .
Something does seem a little shady there.

Really? Just how much should they make on them? What is the expense on them? How many steps to create them? How many people were and are involved to make them? What are their costs?
I have yet to see any one of my friends or people on forums 'jump into the fray' of making, well, anything, that they 'claim' is making someone rich, or they feel costs too much. I would imagine if they did 'try' on much more that a 'one off' they would get a rude surprise.

Sorry I pissed you off.
But it just seems if you want to use accubonds,you have to buy factory ammo right now.
Haven't seen any accubond in stock for reloader in a while.
Basically these bullet company make more money off of factory ammo ,and the reloader gets nothing.
I get it ,make the most money off of the products you produce.
But at the same time I will have to switch to hornady,Speer,federal,Sierra, or somebody eles in till the market comes back around when nosler will sell some bullets for reloader.
I'm sorry ,but I do stand behind my comment.

I think what you mean to say is, they likely have contract and order obligations above and beyond those of individual component orders, so they are filling those orders with first priority.
