How is the snow level in the NE?
« on: March 30, 2021, 03:17:14 PM »
Taking my son up thursday afternoon for the youth weekend. Just wanted to know how the snow level is? Especially with the warmer temps this week. Hopefully we can find the birds on some of the public spots this early.

As of two weeks ago we has decent amount of snow at our property on the north facing slopes.  2500 ish feet north facing drift areas had 12-18".  My guess is there is still snow at or above 3000' on north facing slopes, especially where it drifts.

That statement is still true to my observations this past weekend. South slopes are mostly open to about 3200 feet or so. North slopes are a mess, even down to the valley floor in some area. Nothing is greening up quite yet.  The rest of this week should help out with the snow melt.

Good luck with the turkey's.

Drove up to 3500 feet yesterday into the Forest on the Stevens County side. Most of the roads are bare with some snow and ice in the shaded areas. Same as everyone else, more snow on north slope, very little on south slope. Only Turkeys we saw were still very low in the HWY 395 valley on private; but they are getting fired up!!
