Chokes for TSS

I have a question for anyone who has been shooting TSS...which choke and ammunition have you had the best patterns with?  Any can you tell me some of your experiences with shot distance, etc., on wild turkeys.

I know the appeal to most about TSS is you can kill birds at longer ranges with a .410 or 20 ga.  I am most interested in 12ga chokes, but feel free to post whatever ya got!

Right now I'm leaning between factory Full or a variety of Patternmasters  that I have.  I know I will need to pattern my own combination of choke, gun and shell to know for sure but I can't right now because of family and work obligations.

I run an Indian Creek .665 in my SXP, Federal TSS 7 shot. I have only patterned out to 60. Pattern was starting to spread out but still had plenty in the head.

I didn't want to take any chances on ruining barrels, I don't know if it would, but I ordered numerous Carlson TSS choke tubes from Cabelas and they have performed great in every gun we've used them in.

That's an incredible killing pattern at 60 yards.

I now have TSS/Choke envy.....

50 yards the pattern is super dense and the diameter of my Vortex Crossfire red dot housing. It has been worth the money especially on wary public land birds.

Where was your point of aim on that 60 yds target? Have you tried their #9s? They consistently shoot better out of my Remmy than the #7s with an IC .665.

I put it on the head. 50 or less I’m on the waddles. 9’s were about the same density as my 7s at 40 so I went with sevens for availability when I bought them 3 yrs ago. I will be shooting them for a while, bought a few boxes back then.

I’m shooting the 3rd degree tss this year. Haven’t patterned them yet, but will see how they compare to the blended 5,6,7 heavy shot

Funny this came up.  I usually use Hevi-shot magnum blend in my SXP 12ga but foind some really cheap Federal TSS 9 last year and snappes them up.  Ordered a Carlson TSS .650.  Going to pattern this week.  Same choke went on my wife's Benneli 20ga same Federal ammo.  Also have a couple boxes of Hevi-shot HeviXstrut 5,6 in tungsten going to try to.

The Hevi Strut shot really well out of my hunting partners kids 20ga and so did the Browning TSS 9 shot.

I have a Mossberg with the stock Ulti-Full .695 choke in it and it didn't like Federal TSS #9's.  It patterns with Longbeard XR #6's much better so that is still what I'm shooting.  Granted, I'm a 40 yards and under shooter.

with my SBE2, this .650 works best. not sure of your gun, but i like that tube!  working with an indian creek in my affinity 30 ga, got a .562 and was ok, waiting for a .555 to be back in stock but as with all tubes, different guns react differently. Friend with Mossberg that as i understand come over bored ( think this is the term, barrel is not constricted at all), cant take these tight constrictions, sprays pattern, he is in the .685'ish area ....

I'm not sure if I want a super tight pattern for her, anticipating shots under 40 yards

I don't know about TSS turkey loads, but I like the carlson tubes for waterfowl.

have a buddy with Mossberg and they don't pattern well with tight chokes, its the over bore as i understand.. sweetspot for tss 9 around .682-.685  for my guy...
