I wish they would just have set dates.  Take the guessing out of it.  Apps are due this date, drawing is this date, results posted this date.  No speculating, whining, or guessing.
They could say April 30th rather than in April but then everyone would be even more pissed off that they hold onto the information if they have it ready early.  By saying April it gives them the flexibility to release the info as soon as it is ready.

Not that it really matters but what actually is there to verify? I understand with regular draws and making sure all the options and all that but with multi, you are either in or out...  Not asking you specifically just one of those that makes me wonder.
Just based on how many calls and emails they get on the final day/night of the regular draws I would imagine there are way more last minute emails and phone calls with the multiseason draw just because it always seems to sneak up on people with it being so much earlier than anything else. Plus it is a super busy time for WDFW as they are finalizing hunting regs for the upcoming season.

Just my guess and I have no real inside knowledge.

Official hunting regulations are not approved, in print or available for you to make hunt choices about yet, there really is no need to rush these results out there.

I guess I just don't have a lot of sympathy for the "last minute, I didn't plan, can you bail me out" people. The dates have been posted for a while, we have like a month to submit them and they are the same time every year. I will also add that if it were me that messed up, I wouldn't be upset because it was my mistake and nobody else's.

So just to be clear, what you are saying is everyone knows that the due date is posted with plenty of time to submit and that it should be tough cookies if you miss that deadline.

Everyone also knows that results will be posted in April.  It is April 12th, not even half way through April but the same people that say tough cookies they posted the deadline don't want to wait for all of April for results?

I don't get it.  It's posted right in the email, deadline is March 31, results will be posted in April.   :dunno:

I never said that. I did say tough cookies for people who miss a deadline. Much like its tough cookies for people who speed, get pulled over and get a ticket. Speed limit signs, like draw deadlines, are very clearly stated.

My comment was about all the need for verifications and why there can't be one specific draw date that is stated. Don't read more into things then what I stated

When I explained why I thought it wasn't posted immediately after the deadline you replied " I guess I just don't have a lot of sympathy for the "last minute, I didn't plan, can you bail me out" people. The dates have been posted for a while, we have like a month to submit them and they are the same time every year. I will also add that if it were me that messed up, I wouldn't be upset because it was my mistake and nobody else's. "  I read that to say "tough cookies".  I apologize for reading too much into your lack of sympathy.

I will fall back to my original reply, the reason I think it takes time is because they are answering questions and dealing with people that had issues at the last minute for the people that you "don't have a lot of sympathy for".

I am not saying I don't agree with you on the sympathy thing but I am saying I think that they are trying to handle application issues, hunting regulations approval, youth turkey season opener, turkey opener, fishing opener and probably a bunch of the other stuff this month is the reason results aren't posted 2 days after the deadline.

I do believe like always they will be posted in the first half of the month.

I just want to know so that I know if I can put in for permits in all 3 weapons categories or not.  This year I'm going for the "Not-Selected" hat trick.  Anyone know where I can get a Washington Slam pin for that?

I'm not really sure why all the bickering back and forth or complaining about WDFW telling us when the results will be out,They come out at the same time just like Easter and Thanksgiving every year for the past several years.I think we can all agree we know when the results will be out.
