Did you buy it in August last year?

21 thousand multi elk applicants this year, no wonder us with lots of points didn't draw.  I wonder what you guys think about more multi tags?  Do most apply just so they can have more options in the draw? Or do most usually take advantage of the three weapons seasons?  I wonder how many people actually can take that much time off for all three, I personally end up being a weekend warrior on a couple weapons if I manage to pick up an elk multi tag.  I also wonder if the herds would even have more pressure by adding 1 or 2 thousand more multi tags? But with 21 thousand applicants and climbing, odds at 1,ooo permits won't get any better.

I would venture to bet most east side hunters do it more for the 3 seasons and west side hunters do it more for the ability to put in for east side bull tags while hunting bulls no matter what. That’s how I always looked at it anyway. Multi season elk is a lot more valuable then deer.

Drew my first ever multi season deer this year! No elk, but didn't expect to anyway. But curious, I know they sell the leftover, unclaimed deer tags in August, but is there ever a shot to pick up an unclaimed multi season elk tag?

How many hunter Ed multi tags do they give? That could be the extra maybe?
They give out 50 hunter Ed multiseason deer tags and 25 elk tags.

Yes but those are accounted for separately under a different tab

Well I now have 12 points for elk, so I guess I have that going for me next year. I think I'm the last person to never draw a MS elk tag and I have never done a points option.  :bash:
you should be the top highest point holder for multi elk now, not a goal anyone wants for sure.  I thought not drawing at ten was bad!  Sorry man, that really does suck.

Not quite the top but definitely up there  :chuckle: good luck next year!

If you notice the top point holders that year drew the tag, so they are no longer at the top. That’s how I see it.

unclaimed elk tags are very few and they sell in about 10 seconds. Seriously hard to get, you have to be first in line and hope the person across the counter has their chit together and types very fast!!

Last year they didn't do it that way due to COVID.  Who knows this year.

Thats right, I forgot.  Hopefully they do the same thing this year, the left over tags should go to the next in line to draw.

I can tell you that in 2020 like that chart depicts, the maximum points anybody could have had was 13, not 14. I've bought an elk point every year until last year when I realized I'm never going to want a multi season elk tag because I don't hunt spikes and have no desire to hunt on the wetside, so I skipped 2020. For some reason I added an app to my cart this spring so I did points. I currently have 13.

Is this multi season elk tag that big of a deal???  It’s like people are thinking they are drawing a big bull quality tag in the Blue’s!  I guess I really don’t get it.  I could see a few decent reasons to draw it but it isn’t that big of a deal.  :dunno:

Neither one are that big of a deal. The only useful things about either one is being able to apply for permits. Other than that, I’m with you, more than likely a lot of money and still tag soup. Good luck to all that bought, I would too if I’d have drawn, but it’s not the lottery. Proceed accordingly and expect to kill spikes. Good luck!

It's a big deal to me because I love hunting elk and hunting all three weapons. This allows me to do that. Plus it really increases your chances of filling your tag.
