grant/adams county
«

several WDFW units that reside in grant/adams mention hunting prospects for turkeys. the WDFW population distribution maps do not indicate this to be true, and from my limited personal experience water-fowling and fishing the area, I have yet to see a turkey.
has anyone ever seen hunt-able populations in the general area (looking for a confirm or deny populations, not secrete spots)

Washtucna, Coulee City and Ellensburg are the closest places I've ever seen turkeys to Grant/Adams counties. I would not bother looking for them there. I do quite a bit of fishing/bird hunting around the basin as well, never see them around.

I spend a lot of time in Grant County on dirt roads and water and have never seen one turkey there.

I've seen quite a few there...... and fairly well distributed. They are more prevalent in the Fall.
Mostly Foster Farms, but also some Butterballs.
Seriously, I've spent a few hundred days afield there and never seen a track or turd.

I've seen turkeys between summer falls and coulee city also at sun lakes. And once in awhile north of moses in the gloyd seeps and crab creek area. I've seen a few around Washtucna, just saw some this weekend actually.

There was a rumor a couple years back that there were a few in the dunes area of Potholes but I've never seen any back there and I've spent quite a bit of time there. On the other hand, WDFW shut the area down for a couple months to do pig eradication a few years ago and I've never seen a pig there, either...

I saw a small flock of 6 about 12 years ago north of Moses lake. That’s the only time I’ve ever seen them out there

Electric city which is the north end of grant county has a bunch. This time of year flagging traffic on 155 you can hear them gobbling up on the hill above banks lake. Just north of the hutterites in marlin there is a decent sized flock that hangs out in the alfalfa fields, so there are some turkeys around.

See tons of them east of Grand Coulee, they seem to hang on private ground.
But most of the farmers don’t seem to might allowing permission

Northrup Canyon, some of it's is state park, if not most of it. But to the west is some public ground, grab ONX and take a walk.
