I understand all "heavy shot" shot looks that way - it's apparently just part of the manufacturing process and we haven't figured out how to do better than that. There were a couple of articles in the gun magazines, showing those oddball looking shot when the stuff was first introduced.

Weird stuff, but I just might have to try it someday.

This irregular nature of the product has been addressed years ago, this is nothing new, and the stuff continues to sell well. Here is a quote from one of the thousands of articles on the web about Hevishot:

Hevi-Shot, a proprietary alloy of tungsten-nickel and iron made by ENVIRON-Metal, is 7 percent heavier than lead and 49 percent heavier than steel. The shot itself is rather irregular in shape and size, but it produces unusually dense patterns coupled with excellent downrange velocity and energy. Since Hevi-Shot is about as hard as steel, ENVIRON-Metal recommends the use of steel-approved barrels and chokes only, and no chokes tighter than modified.
