Coach had his CO bull from a few years ago pinned and man after seeing how easy that makes them I'll never mount a bull without doing that. Can't remember how much it added but it was pretty minimal.

This makes me want a brown bear  :chuckle:

I wish I would have put removable horns on it, at my last house it worked fine. Now, not so much!

The brown bear was one of my favorite hunts. As you know anytime you go to Alaska it is truly an adventure  (and if I remember right you have family up there, I think I read a Mt goat hunt on Kodiak that you wrote, I would definitely be setting up a brown bear hunt with that option)
yes sir. Well kind of. My brother is an Alaska resident but active duty Army living out of state. Getting the stars to align to make it up there when stuff has been open has been near impossible.  Going after more goats this fall and dall sheep next summer. Maybe an interior griz will wander into base camp while we wait for our ride out 🤞

Hahaha!

My finishing skills would not look that great. But I would have the elk mount up :chuckle:

Just hang the elk wherever you made the hole.  Finishing skills don't have to be that good... :chuckle: :chuckle:

Looks like you have plenty of room yet.  I like how you did the mule deer on the stand, that's cool.

I think it looks cool too, but if I had killed bucks like the top 2 on your rack, I would have done full head mounts.  Those are awesome bucks!

Im working on getting the window out, to get the elk head in. I don't really remember why I did not get detachable horns. I sure wish I would have now :bash:

I have two deer mounts already. (In this picture) I will make a pedestal mount with both of them on it. I may even include an antelope that is very nice if it fits. I will get a barnwood base then a mounting bracket for two or three shoulder mounts to be hung on. It just take so more time and money :chuckle: The deer heads will end up being about eye level. If I ever shoot a once in a life time size buck I will mount it also.

Same plan for my latest two mounts. I bought a bunch of old growth juniper boards to build the pedestal out of. Its cool looking stuff and the thought that at some point a mule deer likely used it for cover is pretty neat to me. Pretty limited on wall and floor space so a small footprint is important..  Going to be a variation of this one......
